Minutes of a meeting of the Town Council's Planning/ Licensing Committee held in the Council Chamber, Windmill Lane, Northam on Wednesday 25th March 2008.

1. Minutes

The minutes of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 12 th March 2008 were approved and signed.

2. Planning applications

0231/08 Sundene, Chope Road, Northam – Demolition of conservatory and replace with single storey flat roof extension - RESOLVED - Recommend approval but concerned that it is a flat roof.

(Vote: Unanimous)

0252/08 72 J H Taylor Drive, Northam – Replacement conservatory - RESOLVED - Recommend approval.

(Vote: Unanimous)

Cllr Miller joined the meeting at this juncture

0256/08 Proposed conversion of 3 flats to form 2 new dwellings, construction of one new bungalow and associated works. 20 Bay View Road, Northam –

RESOLVED – Recommend approval and would ask that Policy RE5 (10% reduction in carbon emissions) be applied to the consent. Also seek to keep the building in keeping as far as possible.

0259/08 Proposed Covering of existing ship slipway. Newquay Dock, Hubbastone Road, Appledore – RESOLVED – Recommend approval.

(Vote: Unanimous)

0274/08 Proposed replacement of existing metal single glazed louvre windows with new UPVC double-glazed windows – St Margaret's C of E School, Northam - RESOLVED – Recommend approval.

(Vote: Unanimous)

3. Parkham Parish Conservation Association

A letter from Parkham Parish Conservation Association regarding a proposal for wind turbines in their area was considered by the Council. It was noted that the District Council had called this in for consideration by Members. Members felt unable to make any constructive comments as full details were not available.
