Minutes of a meeting of the Town Council's Planning/ Licensing Committee held in the Council Chamber, Windmill Lane , Northam on Tuesday 30th January 2007 . Minutes The minutes of the meeting of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 17 th January 2007 were approved and signed. (Vote: Unanimous) 2. Planning applications 2571/06 Proposed change of use from residential home for the elderly to 1 residential unit. Appledore House, Meeting Street , Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval. (Vote: Unanimous) 2639/06 Proposed installation of velux windows, French doors with balcony, rear balcony deck, replacement windows and doors to front garden room. 7 Mount Raleigh Avenue – RESOLVED – Recommend approval. Trust that balcony deck will not cause overlooking problems. (Vote: Unanimous) 2661/06 Proposed internal alterations and conversion of roof space to living accommodation. 14 Hillcliff Terrace, Irsha Street , Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval. (Vote: Unanimous) 2699/06 Proposed replacement porch - Goats Hill House, Goats Hill Road – RESOLVED – Recommend approval. (Vote; Unanimous) 2631/06 Proposed 4 bedroomed house with garage and off road parking Garden - site adjacent to Glenside , First Raleigh – RESOLVED - Recommend Refusal because of the importance of the area. The woodland is important and the townscape is of importance. The proposal goes against the parish plan. The Council would like to see a tree preservation order on this woodland. Concerned that some trees may have been felled and work possibly commenced. (Vote: 6 For, 2 abst) 0007/07 Proposed loft conversion with dormer windows and ground floor extension - 7 Southcott Road, Raleigh – RESOLVED - Recommend approval if no overlooking. (Vote: Unanimous) 0012/07 Proposed extension and part conversion to form spa facility for hotel - Durrant House, Hotel, Heywood Road – RESOLVED – Recommend approval. Keep wall to Durrant Lane . (Vote: Unanimous) 0014/07 Proposed erection of a dwelling - Garden of Petroc , Torridge Road , Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend Refusal - Insufficient curtilage. Cllr Barnes declared a pecuniary interest and left the meeting for this item. (Vote: Unanimous) 0017/07 Proposed single storey annexe extension and garage - 4 Cornborough Road, Westward Ho! – RESOLVED - Recommend Refusal – Out of character and ugly. (Vote: 6 For, 2 against) 0025/07 Proposed extension to dwelling - Hilltop, Hilltop Road , Raleigh – RESOLVED – Recommend approval. Put TPO on evergreen at entrance. (Vote: Unanimous) 0028/07 Proposed extension to rear gable end with conservatory at the rear and minor alterations to steps at front entrance - 32 Riversmeet, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval if privacy of neighbours is not impaired.
