2. Planning applications
1565/06 Reserved matters application for a single dwelling. Land adjacent to the
Little House, Chope Road, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend approval.
1856/06 Proposed alterations to garage and sail loft to provide overspill accommodation. 2 Alpha Place, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval.
1886/06 Proposed extensions to form lounge/dining room, wc/lobby and medical store. Donnington House, 47 Atlantic Way – RESOLVED - Recommend approval.
(Vote: 3 For, 3 abst)
Councillors Barnes, Tisdale and Davies declared personal interests and did not vote.
1932/06 Proposed installation of solar water heating collectors. 37 Bude Street, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval
At this juncture Cllr Bradford MBE joined the meeting.
Councillor Tisdale made the following statement:-
“As both a Town and District Councillor I wish to make it clear that I will reconsider the matter(s) at the District level, taking into account all relevant evidence and representations at the District Council’s Plans Committee.”
1937/06 Planning application and listed building application for
1959/06 telecommunications installation comprising 2 x 7 metre flagpoles with antenna with ancillary structure to house equipment. Durrant House Hotel, Heywood Road, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend refusal. The proposal will have a substantial impact on this important listed building with both the antenna and the ancillary structure affecting its appearance. The Council is also concerned about health risks from radiation from masts and wherever possible these should be situated away from centres of population. The staff and visitors to the Durrant House Hotel will be exposed to long periods of radiation.

1941/06 Proposed erection of pool room extension. Waterfront Inn, Golf Links Road – RESOLVED - Recommend approval
1974/06 Proposed variation of condition from 10 months holiday occupancy to 12 months holiday occupancy. 58 Lenwood Country Club – RESOLVED - Recommend approval
