1.         Minutes


The minutes of the meeting of the Town Council’s Planning/Licensing Committee held 12th July 2006 were approved and signed.

2.         Planning applications


0859/06           Proposed demolition of concrete block shed and construct an annexe for dependent relative. Old Farm, Diddywell – RESOLVED – Recommend approval.

1334/06           Listed Building application to change letter boxes and house numbers to brass and alter downpipes. Kipling Court, Kipling Terrace – RESOLVED – Recommend approval

1427/06           Proposed porch extension - Steepholme, Goats Hill Road – RESOLVED - Recommend approval

1440/06           Listed Building application for proposed conversion of former slaughterhouse into dwelling - North Street, Northam (adjoining 2 The Square) - RESOLVED – Recommend approval

1511/06           Reserved matters application for a dwelling. The Boatyard, Myrtle

Street, Appledore – RESOLVED – Recommend approval but would like to see an element of renewable energy built into the project.


Cllr Eastman declared a prejudicial interest and left the meeting for this item.

3.         Mobile ‘Phone mast at Durrant House Hotel


Members considered correspondence with regard to an application on behalf of

T-Mobile to install two flag poles with trisector antenna to the wall of the Durrant House Hotel.  It was RESOLVED to advise the company that the Town Council were opposed to the installation of telecommunication masts which are in close proximity to the public.  In this particular instance it is considered that the staff and visitors to the Hotel would be at risk.
