1. Minutes
The minutes of the meeting of the Town Council to consider planning applications and allied matters held 15th June 2005 were approved and signed.

2. Planning applications
0529/05 Proposed first floor extension over existing flat roofed area to provide additional space to private accommodation situated above public house; alterations to Bude Street ground floor elevation in sympathy with main building - Royal Hotel, Market Street, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval.

0983/05 Proposed conversion of lower floor of three storey maisonette into self-contained flat. Retrospective application - Avoca 5A Cleveland Terrace, Westward Ho! – RESOLVED - Recommend approval

1196/05 Proposed erection of single detached dwelling. Site adj Woodthorpe, Chope Road, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend approval but concerned about the windows in the roof. Not sure what purpose they serve and could lead to overlooking problems on the eastern side if the loft is to be used as a room. If that were the case the lower sill of the window must not be less than 2 metres from the floor.

1219/05 Proposal to move existing wall and garden fence. 74 Hanson Park, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend refusal. Would query who the land belongs to and concerned about the possible loss of visibility and safety on the pavement. The proposal would impact detrimentally on the visual appearance and feel of the estate. It was felt that the wall could be moved a modest amount so that it ran parallel with the pavement.

Decision Notices at Variance
0010/05 Buccaneer Site, Bath Hotel Road – Members considered the approval for 14 flats issued by the District Council and it was RESOLVED to write to the Planning Office to ascertain what the footprint of the building on the site, as approved, is going to be.

0367/05 White Lodge, Richmond Road, Appledore – In connection with this approval it was RESOLVED to write to the Planning Officer to ascertain the latest situation with regard to the proposal to extend the Conservation Area.
