Minutes of a meeting of the Town Council's Planning/ Licensing Committee held in the Council Chamber, Windmill Lane, Northam on Wednesday 24 th June 2009

Minutes The minutes of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 10 th June 2009 were approved and signed. (Vote: Unanimous) Cllr Mrs Cox made the following statement: - As both a Town and District Councillor I wish to make it clear that I will reconsider the matter(s) at the District level, taking into account all relevant evidence and representations at the District Council's Plans Committee. 2. Planning applications 0105/09 Proposed golf driving range - Royal North Devon Golf Club Amended scheme RESOLVED - Recommend approval. (Vote: 6 For, 1 abst) Councillors Johnson and Langton declared a personal interest. 0186/09 Proposed conversion of unused part of building to form manager's accommodation - Fantasy Island Amusements, Golf Links Road, Westward Ho! RESOLVED - Recommend approval Cllr Johnson declared a prejudicial interest and left the room for this item. (Vote: Unanimous) 0415/09 Proposed residential development on agricultural land. Plot at OS 446 land off Mount Raleigh Avenue RESOLVED - Recommend refusal. This proposal would be development on agricultural land and it would add to the existing traffic problems in an area already suffering from an inadequate road system. (Vote: 6 For, Cllr Mrs Cox abstained) 0453/09 Proposed erection of two storey extension to dwelling -1 Silford Cottages, Raleigh Hill RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0505/09 Proposed single storey rear conservatory - 4 Orchard Gardens, Orchard Hill RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0517/09 Plot 1 Land adjoining High Stacks, Raleigh Hill Proposed residential development for 4 no dwellings reserved matters application pursuant to planning permission 1276/08 - RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: 5 For, 2 abst) 0518/09 Proposed installation of air conditioning unit to rear 2 Meeting Street, 0519/09 Appledore RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: 6 For, 1 abst) Cllr Tisdale joined the meeting at this juncture. 0534/09 Proposed dormer to front elevation - Rhosarden, Glengarth Close, Northam RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0539/09 Proposed ground floor utility room extension to rear elevation - Rosehill Rest Home, Robins Hill, Orchard Hill RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: 7 For, 1 abst) 0547/09 Proposed extension to dwelling - 3 Venton Drive, Westward Ho! Amendment to planning permission 1023/2008/FUL RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0548/09 Proposed single storey rear extension -17 Scott Avenue, Appledore RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0555/09 Proposed decking to rear - 95 Atlantic Way, Westward Ho! RESOLVED Recommend approval if no overlooking and size being appropriate. (Vote: 7 For, 1 abst) 3. Westward Ho! Tennis Club Public Consultation The Chairman drew Members' attention to the letter from the Club who were holding a public display of their proposed new facilities. He encouraged Members to attend.
