Minutes of a meeting of the Town Council's Planning/ Licensing Committee held in the Council Chamber, Windmill Lane, Northam on Wednesday 16th July 2008. PRESENT: Chairman - Cllr C K Langton Members - Cllrs Mrs P D Biggs, Mrs S Collins, A Eastman, B M Edwards, P Hames, R H Osborne, R M M Tisdale together with 3 parishioners Apologies were recorded on behalf of Cllrs Mrs M Cox, R Johnson, R W A Miller and S Robinson 1. Minutes The minutes of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 1 st July 2008 were approved and signed. (Vote: Unanimous) 2. Planning applications 0572/08 Proposed decking in back garden - 2 Estuary View, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend Refusal. Concerned about the impact on the visual amenity of the area, the overlooking of neighbouring properties with the resultant invasion of privacy. (Vote: Unanimous) 0659/08 Proposed Listed building application for alterations to existing first floor bedroom to provide new en-suite and additional toilet - 24 Bude Street, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0676/08 Proposed minor alterations to form porch and store and to re-roof existing conservator - 3 Greenacre Close, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend approval (Vote: Unanimous) 0679/08 Proposed retrospective application for balcony to rear of property - Acers, Goats Hill Road, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend refusal. The proposal is intrusive, causes overlooking and therefore invasion of privacy problems for neighbours and loss of amenity. Members would query what the alterations to the garage are for. Cllr Mrs Biggs declared an interest and left the room when the vote was taken for this item. (Vote: Unanimous) 0696/08 Proposed dwelling - Garden of 1 and 2 Cintra Terrace, Glentorr Road – RESOLVED – Recommend approval subject to no objections by local people and no overlooking.
