1. The minutes of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 18 th March 2009 were approved and signed.

2. Planning applications

0027/09 Proposed demolition of gable end wall and re-building with two windows. Listed Building Application - Chircombe House, Chircombe Lane, Northam – RESOLVED - It was resolved to leave the decision to a Planning Officer with advice from the Conservation Officer. Concern is raised however that the defect in the wall is being used as an excuse to alter the look of the building. Council believes it is important that similar materials be used in any reconstruction.

0263/09 Proposed removal of existing garage to provide double garage with bedrooms above - Courtmoor, Pitt Lane, Appledore – RESOLVED - Recommend refusal. Over-intensive use of the site and excessive massing. The height of the proposal is excessive as is the size of the extension. There is a need to harmonise the proposal with the area.

3. Re-development of Appledore Methodist Church

Cllr Osborne reported on a letter from the Appledore Community Land Trust to the Methodist authorities which was putting forward their interest in their property for the purpose of affordable homes for local people. Cllrs Eastman and Robinson declared an interest as Trustees.
