1. The minutes of the Town Council's Planning/Licensing Committee held 11 th February 2009 were approved and signed.

2. Planning applications

0006/09 Proposed variation of condition 11 of planning permission granted in 1999 to permit use of garage as additional accommodation - 6 Wren Close, Northam – RESOLVED - Recommend approval.

0078/09 Proposed variation of condition 3 to allow 12 months holiday occupancy – 12 Lenwood Country Club – RESOLVED – Recommend approval.

(Vote: Unanimous)

0090/09 Proposed alterations and extensions including raising of roof and first floor extension over garage - Arden, Highfield, Northam – RESOLVED – Recommend approval but not very attractive design.

(Vote: Unanimous)

0100/09 Proposed hotel at Duckhaven Equestrian site - Grid reference 242469 east, 128656 north - Duckhaven Stud, Cornborough Road – RESOLVED – This application was noted.

0104/09 Proposed variation of condition 3 to allow 12 months holiday occupancy - 41 Lenwood Country Club – RESOLVED – Recommend approval

0105/09 Proposed golf driving range - Royal North Devon Golf Club – RESOLVED – Recommend approval.

Cllr Langton declared an interest and left the room for this item.

0112/09 Proposed demolition of existing building and construction of new dwelling, new vehicular access - High Barn, 85 Bay View Road, Westward Ho! – RESOLVED – Recommend Refusal – The plans submitted are not comprehensive enough to allow the Council to make a proper judgement.

3. Re-development of Appledore Methodist Church Site

Cllr Osborne reported on the e-mail correspondence between himself and the Methodist Church Officials. They were at the state of appointing an architect to make the necessary planning applications for conversion of the Church into residential use.

Cllr Osborne was concerned that this should include affordable homes for local people. Cllr Osborne agreed to keep the Councillors informed of the progress and it was RESOLVED to put this matter forward as an item for the Liaison Committee meeting with the District Council.
