1. Minutes of the meeting of the Northam Burrows Advisory Committee held 16th December 2009

The minutes of the meeting of the Northam Burrows Advisory Committee held 16 th December 2009 were approved and signed.

(Vote: Unanimous)

2. To consider the best way of proceeding with regard to the preparation of a Business Plan for the future management of Northam Burrows.

Members agreed that it should be the aim to achieve ownership of the Burrows and it was recognised that it would be necessary to produce a professional business plan to justify the Council's case. Cllr Eastman advised that he thought the Officers at Leader Plus could be used for this purpose and it was RESOLVED to invite Dr John Vernon and his colleague to a further meeting of Northam Burrows Committee on Tuesday 2 nd February at 10 am.

3. Any other items

Cllr Eastman referred to the report on the pebbleridge produced by Mr Slade and papers produced by the Chairman of the 1716 Committee. It was agreed that the Slade Report should be referred to the District Council as the Coast Protection Authority and a copy of the figures from the 1716 Committee would be given to Dr John Vernon together with other documents to assist him with the Business Plan.

llr Hames reported that at the Taw Torridge Estuary Forum concern was being expressed by fishermen who were unable to gain access with their vehicles to Greysand Hill during the hours of darkness as the gates to the Burrows were closed. It was agreed that this was a management issue for the District Council
