Minutes of a meeting of the Finance Committee held in the Council Chamber, Windmill Lane, Northam on Tuesday 17 th November 2009

1. Minutes

Minutes of the meeting held 29 th September 2009 were approved and signed.

(Vote: 2 For, 2 abst)

2. Grants 2010/2011

Members considered the requests for grants and RESOLVED to recommend the sums indicated in the attached schedule.

With regard to application 13 – Northam Community Association, Cllr Hames declared an interest and left the meeting after explaining the reasoning behind the application. Members agreed to support the grant application on the understanding that this would be the only financial support from the Town Council and that evidence would be required of how the previous funding had been spent.

With regard to application 22 – Appledore Arts, the grant was awarded on the understanding that it supported local artists.

With regard to application 27 – Appledore Community & Sports Association, Cllr Edwards declared an interest and left the meeting.

3. Receipts and Payments 2009/2010; Budget for 2010/2011

Members considered the above budget format and it was agreed to hold a further meeting of the Finance Committee on 3 rd December when the budget would be finalised for recommendation to Council.
